TURN THE TIDE

Vernissage am 6.2. um 18:00 Uhr in Anwesenheit der Künstler:innen

Jana Heilig wird am 6.2. und 13.2. Live-Zeichnungen anfertigen.

Mit der Galerie – unserem visuellen Ausstellungsraum – wollen wir die Ausdrucks- und Wahrnehmungsmöglichkeiten für die Themen des Festivals erweitern. Unsere Vision ist es, Netzwerke zwischen darstellenden und bildenden Künsten zu knüpfen und zu erweitern und sie in einen Dialog zu bringen. Wir glauben, dass Kunst im Dialog mit Kultur und Gesellschaft ihre Zeit reflektiert, sich mit und in ihr verändert. Sie ist politisch. Und sie ist nicht objektiv, denn sie ist eine menschliche Produktion, mit all ihren Widersprüchen. Aus diesen Gründen möchte die Galerie Künstler aus verschiedenen Disziplinen zusammenbringen, um zusammenzuarbeiten, Ideen und kreativen Input auszutauschen und zu teilen sowie einen bereichernden und sicheren Raum zu schaffen, in dem Dialog und Reflexion stattfinden können. Für unsere Ausstellungen nutzen wir unkonventionelle Räume, um die Kunst in den Mittelpunkt unseres täglichen Lebens zu stellen. Wir nutzen das Foyer unseres Theatersaals, alte Gemäuer, eine mongolische Yurte und den Raum vor den Sanitärräumen. Wir wollen, dass Kunst und Theater für alle zugänglich sind und über die Mauern von Museen und institutionellen Theatern hinausgehen; wir wollen sie in Beziehung zu dem Raum setzen, in dem wir uns aufhalten, zu unseren Vierteln, Straßen und Gärten.

TURN THE TIDE

Opening reception on 6 February at 6 p.m. in the presence of the artists

Jana Heilig will make live drawings on 6.2 and 13.2.

With the gallery – our visual exhibition space – we want to expand the possibilities for expressing and perceiving the themes of the festival. Our vision is to establish and expand networks between the performing and visual arts and to bring them into dialogue with each other. We believe that art, in dialogue with culture and society, reflects its time, changing with and within it. It is political. And it is not objective, because it is a human production, with all its contradictions. For these reasons, the gallery aims to bring together artists from different disciplines to collaborate, exchange and share ideas and creative input, and to create an enriching and safe space for dialogue and reflection. For our exhibitions, we use unconventional spaces to place art at the centre of our daily lives. We use the foyer of our theatre hall, old walls, a Mongolian yurt and the space in front of the toilets. We want art and theatre to be accessible to everyone and to go beyond the walls of museums and institutional theatres; we want to relate them to the space we inhabit, to our neighbourhoods, streets and gardens.
