Vernissage 31.01.2025 18 Uhr Protagon Kulturgelände
mit Künstler*innen und performativer Überraschung
Die Winterwerft-Galerie präsentiert künstlerische und dokumentarische Positionen zum Festivalthema: Home – Zuhause. Der Fokus liegt dieses Jahr auf dem Medium der Fotografie. Alea Horst zeigt in ihrer Serie „Manchmal male ich ein Haus für uns“, entstanden in den Flüchtlingslagern Moria und Kara Tempe an der EU Außengrenze, sehr konkret, was es heißen kann, die Heimat zu verlieren und auf die Suche nach Zuflucht zu gehen. Die Fotodokumentation zum Theaterpädagogischen Projekt „SANE – Stories about a new Europe“ von antagon TheaterAKTion & protagon zeigt, wie das Theater als Medium des Austauschs über die eigenen Wurzeln und Wege genutzt werden kann. Menschen mit und ohne Migrationserfahrung kamen darin für Trainings und Performances zusammen. Guiseppina und Carlo Tragni porträtieren in ihrem Foto- und Interview Projekt “Belonging” junge Menschen, die Ihre geografische Heimat hinter sich gelassen haben. Neben weiteren fotografischen Arbeiten sind Illustrationen, Installationen, Gedichte, Zeichnungen und Videoarbeiten zu sehen, die sich alle mit den Themen der Herkunft, der Frage nach der Zukunfsperspektive in unseren eigenen Körpern sowie unserem Zuhause – der Erde – auseinandersetzen.
In allen Werken wird das Unmögliche versucht: Die abstrakte Vorstellung und das zugleich sehr persönliche Gefühl darzustellen, das jedem Menschen innewohnt: Zuhause.

with artists and performative surprise
The Winterwerft Gallery presents artistic and documentary positions on the festival theme: Home. This year’s focus is on the medium of photography. In her series ‘Sometimes I paint a house for us’, created in the Moria and Kara Tempe refugee camps on the EU’s external border, Alea Horst shows very concretely what it can mean to lose one’s home and go in search of refuge. The photo documentation of the theatre education project ‘SANE – Stories about a new Europe’ by antagon TheaterAKTion & protagon shows how theatre can be used as a medium of exchange about one’s own roots and paths. People with and without migration experience came together for training sessions and performances. In their photo and interview project ‘Belonging’, Guiseppina and Carlo Tragni portray young people who have left their geographical homeland behind. In addition to other photographic works, illustrations, installations, poems, drawings and video works as well as concerts and a workshop programme can be experienced, all of which deal with the themes of origin, the question of future prospects in our own bodies and our home – the earth.
All of the works attempt the impossible: To depict the abstract idea and at the same time the very personal feeling that is inherent in every human being: home.
