The Conquest (Die Eroberung) untersucht die Mechanismen der Kolonialisierung anhand des Objekttheaters und nutzt den Körper als Bühne, Landschaft und Objekt, das erobert, unterworfen und in Besitz genommen werden soll: Ressourcen werden ausgebeutet, Landschaften verändert, Religionen und Kulturen reformiert, neue Grenzen gezogen, Bevölkerungen geteilt.

Das Duo vereint zwei Künstlerinnen, die tief mit der Kolonialisierung verbunden sind: Dorothée Saysombat (Schauspielerin und Regisseurin aus Laos und China) und Sika Gblondoume (Schauspielerin und Sängerin aus Benin). Ausgehend von ihrer persönlichen Geschichte, die mit der Weltgeschichte verknüpft ist, thematisiert diese Show die Kolonialisierung als ein Erbe, das uns alle betrifft.

The Conquest explores the mechanisms of colonization through object theatre, and uses the body as a stage, a landscape, an object to be conquered, submitted and possessed: ressources will be exploited, landscapes trans­formed, religions and cultures reformed, new frontiers will be set, populations will be di­vided.
The duo gather two artistes who are deeply related to the colonization : Dorothée Saysombat (actress and director originates from Laos and China) and Sika Gblondoume (actress and singer originates from Benin). Based on their personal story linked to the universal history, this show talks about colonization as a legacy which concern all of us.
