Ein Konzert von Rama Ngoni, eigentlich Alimatou Diakité, ist etwas ganz Besonderes. Sie ist eine der beliebtesten Sängerinnen von Burkina Faso. Durch ihre schöne weiche Stimme, begleitet von der Ngoni, der kleinen westafrikanischen Laute, fallen ihre Zuhörer:innen in eine ganz eigenartige, zauberhafte Entspannung, in der auch Platz zum Lachen und Weinen ist. Ihre Lieder erzählen märchenverwoben von dem einfachen Leben, den großen Weisheiten und den verborgenen Wünschen der Menschen, begleitet von der Ngoni der Jäger. Am Ende des Konzertes fühlt sich das Publikum von Rama Ngoni gleichermaßen entspannt und bereichert. Es scheint als wäre Rama singend auf die Welt gekommen, sie kann gar nicht anders als aus ihren ganzen Herzen zu singen, das ist immer spürbar. Ihre Ngoni ist wie die Kora ein Harfeninstrument, das als Klangkörper eine Kalebasse hat. Die Ngoni der Jäger ist die ursprüngliche Ngoni mit 6 Saiten.

Rama Ngoni stammt aus einer traditionsreichen Griotfamilie in Bobo Dioulasso und schöpft ihre Inspirationen aus diesen Wurzeln. Das bedeutet, dass sie seit Beginn ihres Lebens von ihrem Vater Limani Fatié Traoré in die Geschichten und Lieder ihres Heimatlandes eingewiesen wurde. Die Griots haben in Westafrika die Aufgabe die Geschichte zu bewahren und weiter zu erzählen und die Menschen friedlich zu stimmen, damit sie in Ruhe mit ihren Herzen entscheiden.

Rama Ngoni comes from a traditional griot family in Bobo Dioulasso and draws her inspiration from these roots.
