DIKANDA ist eine angesehene Weltmusikband aus Stettin. Für die Musiker:innen steht ein authentischer Stil im Vordergrund – sie suchen ständig nach neuen Möglichkeiten und fast alle Lieder sind Eigenkompositionen, inspiriert vom Balkan, von Israel, Kurdistan, Weißrussland und Indien. Dikanda wurde 1997 gegründet und hat bis jetzt 9 Platten auf den Markt gebracht. Sie haben hunderte von Konzerten gespielt, hauptsächlich in Deutschland, Österreich, Polen und in der Schweiz, aber auch in Russland, Indien und in den USA. Für ihre einzigartige Musik hat Dikanda zahlreiche Preise bekommen – z.B. ‘CD des Jahres’ der Magazin Folker im Jahre 2005 für ihr Album ‘Usztijo’. Die Band schafft eine außergewöhnliche Atmosphäre während ihren Konzerten – es ist eine emotionale Reise durch ethnische Sounds, ein einzigartiges Erlebnis voller Energie, Lebensfreude und Charisma.

DIKANDA is a respected world music band from Szczecin. The musicians focus on an authentic style – they are constantly looking for new possibilities and almost all songs are original compositions inspired by the Balkans, Israel, Kurdistan, Belarus and India. Dikanda was founded in 1997 and has released 9 albums to date. They have played hundreds of concerts, mainly in Germany, Austria, Poland and Switzerland, but also in Russia, India and the USA. Dikanda has received numerous awards for their unique music – e.g. ‘CD of the Year’ by Folker magazine in 2005 for their album ‘Usztijo’. The band creates an extraordinary atmosphere during their concerts – it is an emotional journey through ethnic sounds, a unique experience full of energy, joie de vivre and charisma.
