Musician. saxophones and flutes. improvisation and mixing live electronics.

Tasos Fotiou had an early introduction to music, learning the Saxophone and Flute throughout his childhood. It was through this that Tasos began to immerse himself in the styles of Jazz saxophonist and classical flutist from previous generations, as well as the traditional music of his homeland, before forging his own musical path through composition.

Bringing a thoroughly contemporary sound to the saxophone and flutes, Tasos made a strong impact in his homeland during the ’90s. After that, he toured nationally and internationally, working in both jazz and rock contexts.

In 2000, Tasos formed his own band, Eos Music Group. As a member of the nu jazz group, Eos, Tasos incorporates ambient, and electronic sounds along with his saxophone.

Τoday Tasos Fotiou continues to work as an accomplished composer, producer and performer from his Athens based studio. His unconventional approach to instruments like saxophone and flutes, played contemplatively with a futuristic sound, combining features of world ethnic styles with advanced electronic techniques, generates a high level of emotion and personality.
