Bodies by the Shore

Bodies by the Shore

Just like water moving toward and away from the shore, this workshop offers practices of going into and out of physical surfaces.

We will work with surfaces in space, within our own bodies, and in relation to others. Through simple physical tasks – folding and unfolding, yielding and pushing, entering and leaving contact – we explore how bodies meet resistance, land, take weight, release it, and return to space.
Attention will be given to moments of immersion and emergence: when weight is taken or released, when the body dives, floats, or resurfaces.

We will also practice how to offer a surface: how to offer a space that can be leaned on, trusted temporarily. To support without fixing, to receive without holding on, to allow passage without control.
