Sie kann ihr Aussehen nach Belieben verändern und sich in eine liebevolle Mutter, eine junge Frau, eine alte Frau oder ein Tier verwandeln – ein Archetyp der Muttergöttin, verbunden mit der Nacht, dem Mond und dem Tod als Verwandlung, dem Tod, der Leben hervorbringt. Dancing for Yamamba ist die neueste Kreation von CompagniKha, eine Butoh-Performance von Kea Tonetti mit Live-Musik von Tivitavi.

In a Noh tale, a dancer enters the forest, following the Buddha’s path, where she meets and dances for the Yamamba, lady of the mountains, seen as a deity, a witch. She can change her appearance at will, transforming into a loving mother, a young woman, an old woman, or an animal; an archetype of the Mother Goddess, connected to the night, the moon, and death as transformation, death generating life. Developed as CompagniKha’s latest creation, Dancing for Yamamba is a Butoh performance by Kea Tonetti with live music by Tivitavi.
